To earn the HICA designation, applicants can be ready to write the NCE in three steps:

  1. Download and complete the self-assessment
  2. Submit the self-assessment to the College for review and approval
  3. Apply to write the HICA NCE for $269 + tax.

The health information profession is strengthened by diverse voices and stories. HICA NCE preparatory course

The course is designed to guide applicants through every stage of the exam process, from application to receiving results.

Based on the Health Information Associate Curricular Standards, this preparatory course identifies a few examples of the knowledge content being tested. It also provides some practice questions and helpful tips for preparing for the exam.

By working through each module and utilizing these resources, exam candidates will be well-prepared to achieve certification and advance their career.

To access the HICA NCE preparatory course, make sure you are signed into your CHIMA account and follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to your dashboard
  2. Scroll down to the “My professional education” card
  3. Search for course 0286 HICA NCE Preparatory Course
  4. Select the course to begin
